Firstly, sorry I haven't updated the site
for so long. I have recently started a new wonderful job as an
Active and Healthy Program Officer for our local council.
Something I am really enjoying and something that will be a big, but
rewarding challenge.
I also turned 30 today. It is hard
to imagine that I am actually 30 years old. I used to imagine what I
would be doing at 30 and where I would be. Would I still be running
and does the saying go that you get stronger and a better runner as you age
(for women especially).
Most of our top woman marathon runners in
Australia are over 30 and they seem to be getting stronger with each year
that passes. Just look at the efforts of Keryn, Jackie, and even more
recently the fantastic Rina Hill. These women are an inspiration and
prove that is never to late to have a go and see what you are capable of.
For me, I will just have to wait and see.
If I do go back to competitive marathon running I hope that I too have the
strength that these women have and run my best marathon yet.
