I was born in
Melbourne, Australia and lived there until my family moved
to the
Gold Coast in 1981 when I was just 7. Although I enjoy
visiting
my old home town, I'm a little too used to the
weather on the Gold Coast
and can't see myself moving back.
School
I attended a local primary
school before moving to Coombabah High School
in 1987. I then went onto Griffith University in Queensland and
completed
a Degree in Health Science with a double major in Sport
Management/Marketing
and Sport/Exercise Science.
Work
I have held a variety
of positions since completing my education. I have
worked at
a Bike Education Centre, as a Sports Attendant and as a Lifeguard.
I currently work for PowerBar on the
Gold Coast as a Marketing Executive.
Sport
I've always played a
lot of sports. I was lucky enough to be selected in a
junior Australian Netball Team, and played a few representative
games of
Touch Football. Then I tried my hand at
Triathlons and loved that!
I'm also a keen
surfer and hit the waves when I get some free time.
The
future
I know it's a cliché, but I'm just taking it one day at a
time and trying to
stay focused on my running. My ultimate
dream is to represent Australia.
